Frenzy of openings and Art events

by joeralt on September 14, 2009

This week in Tel Aviv, the art scene exploded into a frenzy of the new season’s openings to which I didn’t bother to attend since it all felt just too overwhelming. An event that is supposed to be a Biennale has turned into an Annual event called Art TLV and same as last year I heard nothing of significance. It is great to have many friends who attend to some of these events and openings and this way I can have an assessment and evaluation so I do not have to go to all those many openings. In a way, for a country of this size the activity of the artists in all fields seems to actually a bit disproportional. Another event which had a little more appeal to me was an open studio event that I found myself attending but this is only because I wanted to see some works of some artists friends whom I met trough a local artists online forum.

Here is a very special studio I have encountered of this wonderful artist by the name of Nimrod Reuveni full of surprising pieces of sculptural works as well as assemblage full of wit and humor.
