by joeralt on August 26, 2011

Two weeks after coming back from London and the memory of the visit is fading fast. I am back to my regular activities and that of course includes my daily sketch activities. I am in a process of figuring out how to add a feature box with my daily watercolor sketch and make it available  for sale [...]

Sketching in the cafe is one of my own regular activities as well as an integrsl part of my classes. Allowing synchronization between the gentle motorics of the hand and the brain via the eyes, creates a great oportunity to exersise letting go.

Wood-The beginning of the creative cycle

by joeralt on May 5, 2011

The element of Wood is the most obvious place to start the wheel of creativity. It is true that wheels have no beginnings and no end but there is a sound logic to start at the place of Inception. Is the first step and prerequisite to initiate the cycle of creativity. The opposites must meet [...]

Why not

by joeralt on September 6, 2010

Sitting in a lovely cafe called “why not”. Why not, indeed. This place is kind of discovery for me and quite refreshing change from my usual neighborhood of Florentin where I live. Actually, it is a park so no wonder I am so enthusiastic about the calm and quite. Earlier did some sketching of the [...]

Clutter versus Clatter

by joeralt on September 1, 2010

Children’s Art

by joeralt on April 25, 2010

I love children’s art .Once in a while I get to know a child that allows me to peek at their scribbling and doodles and I feel very privileged to be shown into their visual ideas. There is always much originality within the context of the known and well defined patterns.Love those bright colors and [...]

A great day for outdoor painting

by joeralt on November 21, 2009

Just returned from a day and half trip to the north where I teach art once in two weeks in this lovely kibbutz called Yir’on. The weather is exceptionally warm which makes it ideal for landscape painting, so this is exactly what I did. Packed my portable easel and did some sketching in the sun.Yiron [...]
